Canyon Concert Ballet Welcomes Conner Horak-Flood as Rehearsal Director and CCB2 Director

Fort Collins, CO — Canyon Concert Ballet (CCB) is proud to announce the appointment of Conner Horak-Flood as the new Rehearsal Director and CCB2 Director for the 2025/2026 season.

A Fort Collins native, Conner returns to his roots bringing with him an expansive and versatile background in both classical and contemporary dance. Conner began his early training at Canyon Concert Ballet before attending prestigious summer programs at Boston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet, and Next Generation Ballet. He continued his professional development at Butler University, graduating cum laude with a BFA in Dance Performance and departmental honors.

While at Butler, Conner performed masterworks by renowned choreographers, including Paul Taylor’s Le Sacre Du Printemps (The Rehearsal), Gorgio Arpino’s Viva Vivaldi, and George Balanchine’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. As a professional, Conner has danced with Wonderbound (which included performing with the Flobots at the Vail Dance Festival), he originated many roles and creating works with David Taylor’s Zikr Dance Ensemble, Boulder Ballet where he danced the lead in Paul Taylor's "Aires", Reformations Contemporary Ballet, Amy Anderson’s Engage Movement Arts, Front Range Contemporary Ballet, Starry Night Productions, James Sewell Ballet where he worked with James Sewell, Darius Strong, and Gabrielle Lamb, Judy Bejarano’s IMPACT Dance Company, and most recently with Beth Twigs' Twigs + Co and as a principal dancer for Ballet Northern Colorado under the direction of Michael Pappalardo. Conner is also co-founder and choreographer of The Soda Shop Movement Company.

In his new role at CCB, Conner will serve as a key member of the artistic team, supporting the company’s rehearsal process and mentoring the pre-professional dancers of CCB2. His deep ties to the Fort Collins community, paired with a dynamic and diverse performance résumé, make him an inspiring addition to the organization.
